I've spent the last 6+ years as a backend-focused web engineer, mostly working with PHP, Laravel, and WordPress, with REST APIs and MySQL tying everything together. I like solving the harder, less visible problems around architecture, speed, and security that make an application actually work well once real users and real traffic show up.

Most of my work involves building custom backend systems: APIs, admin panels, WordPress plugins, and full application setups designed to grow without breaking. I try to keep the code clean and easy to understand, so someone else, or future me, can work with it later without trouble.

I'm not only backend, though. I know enough HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to work across the stack when a project needs it, and I'm also familiar with Next.js, which makes working with front-end developers easier.

Security is something I think about from the start, not at the end. I follow OWASP best practices and build with common risks in mind, like SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF, so the application stays safe from the ground up.

Outside of client work, I've been learning more about generative AI, trying to figure out where AI-based tools and automation actually make sense inside a web application, instead of just adding them because it's trendy.
